Liturgical Ministries

The Liturgy is the center of the Catholic Church and parish life. Through our  Baptism, we are all members of the Body of Christ and are called to participate in the Mass. We invite all to consider being a minister of the Liturgy in any of these ministries.

Lectors and Commentators

Lectors proclaim the Old and New Testament readings at weekend and weekday Masses. Commentators announce weekly activities before Mass and the Prayer of the Faithful during weekend Masses. Lectors and Commentators select the mass or masses they are interested in attending. Training is provided. Anyone may become a lector provided they have been confirmed. Schedules are printed bi-monthly.

Extraordinary Ministers of the Eucharist

Inspired by a deep personal love of the Eucharist, Extraordinary ministers assist the Celebrant in providing the Body and Precious  Blood of Christ to the congregation during weekday and weekend Masses. They also distribute to the ill, homebound, hospitalized and those in Nursing Homes. Training is provided.  Schedules are printed bi-monthly and Ministers may select their preferred Mass.

Altar Servers

Altar servers assist the celebrant during the liturgy. Any boy or girl who has celebrated First Eucharist may become an altar server. Schedules are printed bi-monthly and assignments are based on family preference.

Music Ministry

Our parish choirs strive to assist the community through song and provide a more prayerful atmosphere for worship and liturgy. All those who love to sing and desire to use their talents for the praise of God are welcome to join our choirs.

Ushers/ Ministers of Hospitality

With our focus on hospitality, our Ushers and Ministers of Hospitality are the first face of St. Anthony’s. They welcome parishioners both long time and new with a friendly greeting giving special attention to those who may be new to the parish or those in need of help. They open doors, assist with seating Mass attendees, take up collections and hand out bulletins or other materials as needed. They also pick up the church at the end of each Mass assuring all have a pleasant environment to pray.
